それまでもDJ活動を共にしてきたDJ HALとPwuによる、4ターンテーブルの可能性を追求し2004年に始動したツインDJユニット。二人でしか生み出す事の出来ない、高度で確かなテクニックに裏打ちされた綿密かつ繊細な構成、そして何よりもフロアを意識したダンサブルなサウンドは、BreakBeats、Dub、House、Ambient、Techno、Bassなど、様々なジャンルの要素を消化したもの。高いドラマ性を持ち合わせたひとつの映画や絵画のように構築されるそのオリジナルな世界観は、共演アーティストをはじめ、多くのリスナーから高い評価と支持を得ている。
Halptribe is a duo DJ project between two long affiliated Kobe-based DJs HAL and Pwu. They started playing together in 2004 to explore the possibilities of using four turntables controlled by two individuals simultaneously. With their rich experience in the artform and skills that have been developed over a long period of time and their dedication to dance floor, they program their sets intricately paying attention to details. Incorporating broad palette of various styles spanning across break beats, dub, house, ambient, techno and bass, they are capable of telling a dramatic story like a film or a painting.
